SLR first timer here, need lots of advice but for now... I need a tripod, and after looking in the web I found this

http://www.amazon.com …cs&qid=1219198710&sr=8-19 (external link)

Come with that cool backpack, question, If you have b-pack like that, does the tripod fits in the b-pack or you need to carry it in its own case?

Thanks in advance.....

I dont think that model of tamrac would hold a tripod. try to checkout the lowepro mini trekker aw, really nice bag and would also hold a tripod. i got mine off ebay.

Unless you have a super small, cheap (read: should not trust your DSLR on it) tripod, in most cases a tripod will not fit in a backpack like that.

Most people who want to carry a tripod with them and a backpack (myself included) get a backpack that has a built in external tripod holder like this:

I have owned and really liked the Lowepro Flipside 300 (pictured) and the Lowepro Flipside 400 AW.

just another silly question, does this tripod look like the head will flit to the side so I will be able to take portrait pictures?

Yes it does, but that tilt handle/bar will probably be up in the air when you do.

No problem.

Just as a little side note though... I personally wouldnt trust that silly little tripod too long. If I were you I would start doing whatever you have to do to upgrade to a nicer say perhaps Bogen tripod as soon as you can. Think about it, all the money you have put into your camera is sitting on ~$25 tripod.

Just food for thought and because Id hate to see you come back here witha horror story thread and pictures showing your camera on the floor and busted.
