I already have a pair of 580EX's and I was wondering could I get any use out of a Sunpak 4000AF? Can I slave it or anything? A friend offered to give me one if I wanted it. I'm using a 40D body, if that matters. Thanks.

From searching with Google, I'd have to say "no". Looks like it has 1/1 and 1/1/16th power in manual. That doesn't sound good if you want to use it off camera. Also, it appears it has a Save Energy feature or whatever they call it wherby the flash will go to sleep after a period of inactivity. That would also be a bummer if you had it mounted on a stand across the room.

But, hey, free is free. Take it and play with it. Maybe you can come up with something.
Good luck.
