I think the mechanic had the blue prints upside down when he assembled this one. Wing in back, elevator in front. And then he has the engines facing he wrong way too. :)

This is the first time I have spotted a Piaggio here in Kansas City.

Not just one, but two!

They are an incredible aircraft, and not only do they look like none other, they sound different than anything you will hear with a prop. Nice captures!

Thanks A2EVOMR. I was at the airport practicing with a rented 100-400 Canon when I spotted these two great looking aircraft. I was trying to get a good shot of the 2 F-15s that were pushed back into the hanger but it was a little dark in there to get anything too good.

Thanks PhotosGuy.
I went back to the airport today and arrived just in time to see one of the Piaggio take off. You are correct A2EVOMR about the unique sound these planes make. Unfortunately the sky did not do much to help the photos today. But here is what I got.

Very nice! I wonder if they were being ferried to their final owner/destination. At least the lookup for N173SL says it's a pending registration.

I saw that too Scout7id. These things must have been swarming or something. I just noticed that the one I caught flying is a different tail number than the other two.

Looks like there were a couple of us at the downtown airport this morning. Here's my contribution to this thread:)

Nice shots JB. It was kind of a slow day down there today wasn't it. There sure are a lot of these Piaggio's coming and going from this airport. I have seen 4 different tail numbers in the last 3 days.

I LOVE these things. Have ever since I first saw them available. They're considered the "Ferrari of the skies" and are designed in part by Ferrari/Pinninfarina (sp?)

The cabin, as you can see is very round, and it makes for a VERY comfortable interior.

They fly around my area all the time (Clearwater - Sarasota FL)

D300 w/ a couple of lenses and flashes.
Shoot Nikon, but wouldn't mind a few Canon things
