everytime i get stuff from newegg i usally get it earlier then expected and they are very good with consumer service, btw their standard shipping is faster then most site express

Their shipping is very fast. Yesterday I ordered a Wacom tablet, and chose free shipping, thinking that it didn't matter if I waited a week or so for it.

It arrived today. If only i could learn to use the stupid thing that quickly.

Been using Newegg.com ever since 2001.
Flawless packing job, fast shipping (usual 1-2 days) and service.
Absolutely top notch 5 stars online retailer.

I do like Newegg and use them regularly. They haven't been flawless though. I've had a dead power supply, a badly dented computer case, and occasionally stuff that decides to ship from the east coast rather than socal and therefore takes ages to get here. I've also had a lot of good service, and would rate them high. Just don't expect miracles. :)

I like newegg but they did something that I don't particularly agree with last week. Intel just started shipping the 2nd generation of X25-M solid state drives... very high ratings on these bad boys, excellent performance... Anyways, they were listing the 80GB version last week as selling for $229 whenever stock arrived. Well apparently some stock arrived on Thursday, Newegg sold out in minutes, and then bumped the price to $249. Okay, supply and demand. At some point on the weekend they received more and sold out quickly. Price jumps to $279. Wow, I guess I need to pay closer attention. So I sign up for a txt message whenever they get more in stock. Monday night around midnight I get the text, log in to order and BAM! the price is now $499. Really Newegg?? Really? I wouldn't have expected that from them but some would say that's just S&D. I don't know. Sounds pretty extreme to me but I guess if folks will pay for it, that's their call.

On the other hand, I ordered $1,250 worth of components from them Friday and received most of it Monday. Fast service.

NewEgg is a great online retailer. I have been buying from them for years. They always ship quickly and are first rate.

One thing however, they are NOT authorized Canon dealers.

Be sure to check the return policy if you buy a Canon item. If it's covered by a NewEgg standard return policy they will do a free exchange for one year.

I exchanged a 55-250 after a couple of months and the exchange was quick and painless.

They're RMA department is first rate but they do charge a 15% restocking fee if you return an item for a refund within the first 30 days.

They also have one of the best retail websites in the business.

That is not true... they are a fully authorized Canon Dealer - I checked the list of dealers and they are most definitely on it. This is how they were offering Canon rebates a month or so ago. In fact, I got my 70-200 2.8 IS for $1399 from them with an instant Canon rebate.

Honestly, in most cases I'd rather buy from NewEgg than B&H or Adorama... they have 30 day returns instead of 15 days like everyone else - which to me is very important, because most cases, a major problem will come up when you first own it, but if you don't use it right away, 2 weeks might not be enough time to catch it. My first 5D2 was locking up as a lot of people experienced.. got a brand new replacement and went on my way. Others who had similar problems had to send it to Canon, only to have Canon tell them that they couldn't repeat the problem and they were stuck with the issue.

The ones that were $499 , thought they were the 160 gig and not the 80 gig ? Or maybe I missed an alert , I see they have the 160 gig for $485 now .

Seems like the SSD's are going to replace a lot or most of the hard drives eventually, when the price gets down with them! I guess we won't have to worry about them crashing like the hard drives do! :)

Newegg is a fantastic etailer, one of the best. They're really #1 in my book. I just ordered some stuff from them! I've been a good customer of theirs for a number of years and I'm sure I will be for quite a few more years!

Got my 430exII from Newegg with the rebate. Authorized, fast shipping, and 100% reliable.

Awesome site. I do nearly all of my electronics shopping there.

Yes, I have had many very satisfactory experiences with newegg.com. For one thing, I bought my XSi from them. They have excellent ratings as an online retailer. They ship fast and they have great customer service. I highly recommend them (a little late, but others may be interested in another satisfied customer). I get my stuff from either newegg or B&H.

In response to the questions regarding SSDs at newegg...
http://www.tomshardware.com …g-price-doubles,8578.html (external link)

It's crazy, they were selling the 160GB second gen drives for ~$1,000 yesterday. Now they don't show any second gen drives. These are the first generation drives (no TRIM command firmware update to preserve drive performance) that are in stock now but if you check this afternoon, it may be totally different scenario. The gen2 prices were supposed to be same price or cheaper than gen1 (Intel pricing) yet newegg increased the 80GB's from $229 to $499 due to demand.

I still think Newegg is one of the best places to order computer parts but watch out for insane fluctuation on low stock, high demand items.

Actually not true. One big problem with SSDs is data latency. If left unused for a long time files will start to corrupt. If the drive is in use its taken care of, but they are not a long term archiving solution by a long way. And this is as issue with drives a couple of generations ahead of what is on the shelves at the moment.

They make a great boot drive, or good for a media center, but when it comes to file safety they are no better as they bring their own issues to the game.
