When i connect the 220ex to my G5 I lose the ability to switch between flash on, flash off, or Auto flash using the lightning bolt button. Is this normal ? Despite not being able to turn flash off it appears the flash adjusts properly to the shooting condistions and exposure compensations....

Any Help ?

It's the same on a G3 with the 220EX. The 220EX overrides the "button" on the camera. So, yes, it is normal. Also, there are times you must take the 220EX off the camera for some things to work even if the flash is turned off. Bracketing won't work, Not sure about continuous shooting as the flash must charge between each shot.

It is a standard thing with all G powershots. I have the 420ex on a g6 and have similiar experiences.
