Antron:
I have wanted to send this email since the Englishtown race, hope you will have time to read it.
To say the least, Englishtown certainly turned into a somber week end after Scott's accident, but there was one shining moment for me. My boyfriend and I have tickets to sit in the tower suites, where we get a bird's eye view of what goes on in the starting line and staging area. On Sunday of that weekend your car was in the staging lanes and you had wandered up to the starting line, standing near the jersey barriers watching the runs on track. This barrier is located in front of the handicapped stands. I watched in total awe and admiration as you scaled the barrier and went into the handicapped seating area to have your picture taken with the fans. You not only had your picture taken with one fan, you proceeded to work your way through the entire seating area, signing autographs, chatting with the fans, and having your picture taken with everyone in that seating area. Everyone in our suite that witnessed that moment was so moved by your kindness, truly a bright moment in a somber day.
Antron you are truly a class act, it's people like you that make drag racing a fan favorite.
Regards,
Janet

Funny, I just replied to another post regarding another Top Fuel driver and what a "class act" he was. I couldn't agree with you more though. All of the drivers (and teams, really) in the Nitro class are so awesome with the fans.

I agree also. I have not had a bad encounter with any of the drivers/teams. Tony Bartone signed a photo I had taken the day before and he brought me behind the ropes and chatted for about 30 mins.

Great story and it shows why NHRA is gaining fans.

Hi Janet,

After a week of not signing in, I attended a photo seminar last night and decided to stop by and re-visit some helpful links in the forum. I always visit the motorsports link, and I know that doesn't need explaination. Your words are so kind and have touched my heart. Antron is truely the person he has always been, a kind, gentle and fun loving soul. Nothing about his job has changed him. His compasion for life and the people in it is so awesome. Thank you for all the kind words. I let him read you post and he said..."that is such an awesome thing to say." I think what he doesn't realize is that it is through being himself, he touches so many people.

Thanks again and God Bless,
Billie
