As long as the photoons are saved as a .tif or a .jpg I would think there should be no problem printing them...I saved the one of the Chief and I on the train as a .jpg...I can print that on my network printer ok.

Long day today... spent time in Salem, OR working on a project, left just in time for rush-hour, so I stopped off back at my old college and had coffee with a friend, then went to my co-workers house for his birthday, had pizza... now home... likely to go to bed soon.

I just saw on that greeting card site that there is a $90 set up fee. NOT. Maybe Puddle will just have to do a few different backs and call it good.

I've been gone all day, and I return to find I have a lot of reading to do. Thank you all for posting your thoughts about the question I raised yesterday.

No changes have been proposed nor are any being considered. Merging RRTP and TPBM is off the table for now. Hopefully the discussion has elevated everyone's awareness about how some people are made to feel when they wander into what is seemingly a closed discussion: I'm confident we'll be more sensitive to making sure we don't inadvertently hurt anyone's feelings in the future.

Now, for the good news....

I had a chance to take some photos today. In fact I took a lot of shots---almost 400 of them. We were at the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach, and there were a number of birds feeding in the shallow water. There were also a couple pelicans alternately wading and swimming around.

I was shooting the 100-400L on the 1D Mk III, and of the roughly 400 shots, not one was in focus.

Not one.

I suspect the lens, but until I try another lens on the Mk III, and try the 100-400 on another body, I won't know what the problem is.

I am absolutely livid right now. Looks like I'll get a chance to see what this CPS membership is going to work out. We're supposed to be going back there in less than two weeks with a group from POTN, and I'd really love to have that combo available.

400 shots. 400 out of focus. I think I might take up macramé.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I whole-heartedly agree. I have absolutely no idea who everyone is, and am a newbie here (sure i have 1000+ posts but i'll get to that in a sec). But since I started on here, everyone has been very kind to me.

You read a thread, you post a comment - being a super noob at the time, you may as well, if something happens, good, if something doesn't ahh well at least you tried - and from there on, it has been a snowball effect now I am as bad as the others and post away constantly.

There are many, many fast moving threads that sometimes you can keep up, other times you can't. I look at a lot of threads on POTN and try to learn about shots from looking at posts, and askign embarassingly noob questions. What I do know, is that with RRTP and the TPBM threads i tend to post and read is decent. comments are missed but never ignored, unless you're acting a real tit.

Anyone can come in and join in, nobody is treated badly (of what I have noticed), so I am happy to carry on posting on here. That and people do give their time to explain the more techincal points, rather than giving you a link to read. For someone who is new to photography, that is great for me. Some days I have 30 pages to catch up on, others 4-5 pages. Doesn't mean anything is ignored, we all have lives (I am assuming here now), and we work, not everyone has time to read everything, and when you do get the time, you're 90+ pages behind, so you have to just keep going on and on. If i really want a question answered about a post, I'd start up a thread in the specific section and hope it can get answered there..

I just have to make sure that i don't put my foot in my mouth which i am famous for.

Here is my perspective.... I have read everyone's up to this point and have been thinking of my own take on things since then....

Nice rants Jennifer and Puddle, some excellent food for thought from each of you.

While it's probibly late for me to be putting my 2cents in, I think I will anyway. :D I am very very new to the two threads mentioned. Only been here a couple months I think. I lurked for quite some time before ever posting. I decided to join in the fun because everyone seemed so nice. And you all are very nice! I am not going to get into a big long explanation of things as others have already said everything I could say and have said it much better. Like JW said this morning and I agreed with him, if it wasn't for these 2 threads I wouldn't be in POTN much. I love coming home from work and reading up on everyones exciting, and not so exciting days. Sometimes I post and alot of times I don't. I guess what I really want to say is that as a new new newbie, I have never felt slighted. Always felt welcome. And would really hate to see any end to 2 wonderful places to come unwind, get good advice, and post beautiful pictures in. I wouldn't feel comfortable posting my newbie pics in any other threads here in POTN. I could say alot more, but I'm tired, and I think all has been said already. Thank you all for making this a wonderful place to be:D
