I spent $300 getting it fixed, and it seemed to be okay until yesterday. I'll do some more testing with it later, with and without the filter, and with IS turned off. I figure the more information I can provide Canon, the less time it will require for diagnosis, and the sooner they can start fixing it. Take off the filter for starters and then test without IS.
