I just found out that 3 of my 4 fair entries were accepted for display! This one received a "Judge's Choice" award (I edited out the orange construction fence in the one I printed, I just can't find where I saved that version right now ):

IMAGE: http://abergseyeview.zenfolio.com/img/v1/p506685121-4.jpg

There were nearly 1,000 entries total. They awarded Best in Show, plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention and Judge's Choice in each category.

The others selected for display were:

In that case...you will never be done!

Nope. But isn't it always that way? :(

belmondo wrote in post #6234253 (external link)
Okay. I took the same shot with the filter removed and the IS turned off. The IQ was minimally improved, but still well below acceptable standards.

I'm starting to think the problem might be in the IS. I did take a shot with the IS turned off and the filter on, and it was even worse, but just slightly so.

Regardless, it's nothing I can fix, so off it goes.

Bummer Chief. Off to Canon!

oh okay. We haven't had cable for about 8 months and I keep seeing these "now on blue ray" and I finally decided to ask what that was

Way to keep up with the times Permie. ;)

Oh, I love the wildlife I actually prefer it to people on most days

Yes. Think Beta and VHS.

The difference here is that Sony actually won the battle. Blu-Ray beat out HDDVD.

belmondo wrote in post #6234426 (external link)
The best deal on a BluRay player is to buy the Playstation 3. It's built into it, and it costs less than a dedicated BluRay player in most cases.

Do Not buy a PS3. You will end up buying a bunch of video games too and spend all your time playing them. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Congrats, David. Great images.

Thanks, guys! This is the first time I've ever entered anything outside of POTN, so I was very happy to get any accepted at all. Anything more than that was way more than I expected.

my kids seem to think the nintendo wii is better than the playstation 3. Does the playstation 3 have actually physical interaction like the wii does?

:lol: I read in a doctor's office magazine that people our age (who are relatively inactive) are buying the wii's and actually getting some aerobic exercise.

Sorry to hear that Chief. Hopefully they'll figure it out and get it back in time.

Can anyone tell me what blue ray dvd is? And do you have to have a special dvd player to play one? (I feel like I close my eyes for a day and something new is out that I don't know what it is..)

High Defination DVD.
