I just got a 40D and I can't figure out what the little button with a picture of a printer and a squiggly line next to it means. Does it mean I can print pictures straight out of the camera? If so, where do I load the paper in? I get bored reading manuals so please help me. Thanks!

In all seriousness, I got busy with classes and when I come back to the thread what do I find? About 20 pages to read through. All I ask for at the end of the day is a nice, warm, home-cooked meal. What do I get instead? Pages and pages of amazing photos and witty banter. What is the world coming to?

hahaha :) paper goes in the 'optional' battery grip with built in print head

Thanks, we've been good friends for fourteen years, we were married 6 years ago, and we've always enjoyed sharing our time with each other.

I'm loving the Tokina so far. The f/2.8 is handy, it's nice and sharp, and focus is spot on. I just tried it out with my new 430EX at a friend's birthday party (small karaoke room) and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm glad I got a good copy straight out of the box. I always get paranoid with buying new lenses with all the QC issues people seem to constantly be having.

Cool. It looks like it'd be a great lens. It's for the xxd though right...not ff or the 1.3 crop?

tiresome...I finally finished processing that wedding I've been working on for 3 weeks, got the link sent to the B&G and made the disk etc...then when I was done I had to clean my neglected house...and now I have to pack because I'm leaving to see my grandbaby tomorrow morn.

wow! pretty full on.

I'm about 3/4 through processing... so still a way to go. i really need to teach Helen how to process/take shots, so she can be my backup :) heh... she's getting more into using the 350D... I've convinced her that the 18-55 is not good for her, and she' progressed onto the 17-40L.

Then she went to a dinner party and complained that the shutter speeds were all too slow, and I suggested the 24-70, and she didn't think it was too bulky/heavy... so we're getting there.

Thinking of getting a 17-55 f/2.8 IS for her... That'd be a great lens for the crop body and for her who doesn't check shutter speeds that much. I suppose at least she's venturing to use Av :D

Let's see what I can rustle up. Looks like it's going to be leftover pasta since I'm feeling a little lazy. You should grab some breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day, dontcha know ;)?

I've heard of people using it on 1.3 crop and ff bodies, but you'd have to stay at around 15-16 to avoid vignetting. On those bodies that's just about as wide (or wider for FF) than a 1.6 crop is at 11 so it's still a good option imo.

Glad to see you. Keeping up with this thread is doable.. I've given up on trying to read all the posts on tpbm.. it moves along at a really quick pace.

Glad to be here. I've already missed about 5 posts in the time it took me to type this. In other threads I usually have to wait all day just for a reply. This is going to take some getting used to. Happy Anniversary :D. I've been working my way backwards and saw everyone congratulating you. It's lasting relationships like yours that give me hope for the future.

Dan refuses to learn to process wedding shots  He doesn't mind being a backup shooter but hates to process for any length of time.

I think Helen might like the 17-55. It's nice and sharp and the IS is very nice, especially in low light. If it wasn't for the price vs. poor build quality (too many people have said "here it is a year later and it's broken" or "I'm on my 3rd one" now, I'd recommend it more than I do. I just thing if they are going to charge L prices for it, they should make the build better. But the people who buy it, swear by it. (or at it :) ).

Good answer. I might be able to tunnel out for a while in a couple days. I'm up to my armpits in alligators right now.

Careful. Alligators chafe. Be sure to use lotion.
