The drought?? Oh it is totally that bad here... Dirt roads no longer have green folliage... it looks like a volcanic ash covering all the plant life on the sides of the road.... it's very erie looking. We're majorly behind in the amount of rain around here.... The French Broad River is at it's all time low since 1895 or so.... the FIRST year of record keeping... It's pretty bad....

Sounds just like California. All of the boat owners were told to get their boats out of Folsom Lake in Northern California back in July, because the lake is drying up again. It's been doing that every summer for a few years now. Last year in December I walked out onto the dry lake bed to a bridge at the site where an old gold mining town used to be. In a normal year, that bridge and town site would be under something like 20 or 30 feet of water.

Hold out hope Mike... We've gotten the beginnings of a drizzle here.... I don't expect much more! Well I'm off... I've got several things to do... And I'm trying to get myself back into the swing of things... I go back to work Sept 2nd....

Looks as though we are going to have some storms.

I can tell you're really depressed about it, too.

oh, that looks like an interesting place to visit! (and long time no see, stranger!) :)

YAY Tommy! Happy vacation :)

Better watch out though, with Dave's new nikon, you could be bitten by the bug whilst you are away.

oh me too...(financially...I'm just not making enough $ via photography...read that almost nil to cover a switch).

Yesterday when I thought the M3 was funking out on me though, I almost just said "I don't care". Thankfully that wasn't it.

oh and that reminds me:

Scotlet, yesterday you made a comment re: my sunset and the M3 AF. It wasn't the M3 that cause the AF issues...it was that dumb filter.

I've had 2 mostly paid weddings this year. That's it. And two other photographs sold. The rest of the work has been gratis. I'm seriously considering looking for a real (as in steady) job and going back to photography as a hobby.
