Scotlet, yesterday you made a comment re: my sunset and the M3 AF. It wasn't the M3 that cause the AF issues...it was that dumb filter.

No I didn't....

what is "pixel binning"? That phrase is being used regarding the new cameras (supposed to make them lower noise) but no one actually says what it is...

I don't know but I assume its slang for not using all of the pixles in the sRAW formats. The remaining pixels are thrown in the trashbin hence binning. But thats just a guess.

Oh I know the post -- but I don't see the reference to your CPL AF issues... I was referring to all the other AF issues the M3 has with low-contrast, etc. I never mentioned your CPL issues.

Moooooorning, all.

Stalling before I climb under the kitchen sink to fix a small leak. I so look forward to becoming a contortionist for that.

Oh yeah... I actually had to use my wipers... twice ;)

I'd like to share some of ours. It's about 10 to 15 degrees below normal today, and it was so rainy yesterday that when my parents were getting ready to leave we found a couple of frogs had taken shelter from the weather on our front porch. I've seen frogs in the yard and garden lots of times, but never seeking shelter on the concrete porch and sidewalk.:lol:

right, I just thought you mistakenly thought the issues were with the M3 (because of that post) Obviously a miscommunication.

I just was thinking that if you purchased a M3 and didn't like it (or it was acting up) you could always return it in the time alloted. So many of them are working fine now.

I just read this

though I don't know how much relevance it has with the canon sensors but even after reading it, I don't understand it (I get the explanation but not the relevance...see next post)

I guess what I don't understand is that if this is happening already on CCD sensors...what's the "new binning" thing then.

I am still considering it.... I have other things that my $$$ is going towards right now, a new camera isn't on the top of the list. But I am still looking and reading...

Sounds just like California. All of the boat owners were told to get their boats out of Folsom Lake in Northern California back in July, because the lake is drying up again. It's been doing that every summer for a few years now. Last year in December I walked out onto the dry lake bed to a bridge at the site where an old gold mining town used to be. In a normal year, that bridge and town site would be under something like 20 or 30 feet of water.

Didn't you post some pictures of that a while back?

The authorities here are all het up about water conservation because of the drought, but they continue to allow rampant uncontrolled development. One of the County Supervisors wants to allow a developer to build 3500 homes in the eastern portion of the county, but doesn't say where the needed water is going to come from.

Oh here we're not even talking conservation... because our IDIOT mayor decided that a tiny bit of rain we got back in the spring that raised the North Fork Resevoir a couple of inches.... was a FLOODING risk  to Biltmore Village.... and she PROMISED the business owners there that there would be NO flooding there.... First... the flooding occured following two back to back hurricanes in 2004 (Frances & Ivan) and Second.... Since when did the Mayor of Asheville become God?? GAAAAAAAAH! Politicians!!!!
