i have a 430ex flash and i wondering on how to make the flash less harsh on the photo. would the omni bounce tilted at about 45 degrees looks nice or should i use my soft box?

They radiate your flash out in ALL directions and trust/hope that there will be something out there to bounce off of and back to your subject. Outside the nearest bounce surface could be the cloud cover at 10000 feet. Your flash will NOT reach it and bounce back. In a small room with all black walls you will encounter much the same thing with these two diffusers. In a small white room they work great. Dave
