Nope, I keep all my CF cards in cases and never in pockets. I'm very nervous that will happen to me. :) Does it work?

Yeoer,
Like SuzyView, I keep my cards in my camera case. However I did have a P&S with a CF card fall into the water. The CF card is still working today years later and outlived the camera ;)

If it dried out it should be ok, i'd leave it somewhere warm and dry for another few days before I'd try use to use it again.

Nope, I never put my CF cards in my pockets. However I have read of quite a few people washing their CF cards only to have them dry out and work just fine afterwards. Personally if it happened to me I would no longer trust that card and would replace it.

It's hell to clean it out, when the toilet paper that melted into lint gets into the little holes

I've washed one of my cards, can't even remember which one, but I know it still works.

I only found it when I hung the washing out.

So long and thanks for all the flash

My cards are in one of three places 1) camera, 2) desk top USB port or 3) camera pack pack. I have to save the heart ache of asking my wife for permission to buy another card because I inadvertantly destroyed or lost a card.:o

Nope, keep all my cards in a CF case that came with the cards. Have gone on a shoot before, only to find out that there was no card in the camera. The card was sitting at home in the card reader. Now I have more than one card to help my poor memory.

Suggestions welcome.

I've never done that, but I did manage to do a full wash on my car keys including the remote control fob for the central locking and alarm....it dried out overnight and worked perfectly the next day!

A few of my cards have had a wash at some stage. They are all fine. I was put here to torture camera equipment.
