Yes, it was a dull, grey and cloudy day (thanks to ACDSee's auto batch processing for making the images a little more useful), and the weekend forecast looks no better. More frustrating for guys with cameras (and there were plenty on hand for the practice day), the show line is to the north of the spectator line. So, you're facing to the south and everything is heavily backlit, especially around 12 noon.
