Night games are night games, but it was still fun to cover last evening's Bears Vs 49ers game at Soldier Field, despite the fact that the Bears lost 37-30. Looking forward to day games once the regular season starts.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (80-L) blocks a punt off the leg of San Francisco 49ers punter Andy Lee (4-R) during the second half of an NFL game between the Bears and the 49ers at Soldier Field, won by San Francisco 37-30.

So did you stay dry? Nice shot of Manning. The Bears are pretty much going to suck this year. At least we have the Cubs! Good stuff DW.

Phil and John: Thanks.

CP - it sprinkled a little during warm-up, but once the game got underway it stayed dry.

Well, actually, Orton didn't look too bad. Grossman looked horrible, though. Yeah, it might be a long season. We have the Cubs now (and hopefully all the way through October) and the Hawks promise to have a good year ahead) but there may not be much to look forward to on the gridiron (other than HS, of course).

Manning played a great game. Is his contract up for renewal? Two excellent returns, and several outstanding plays on D.

I think they just signed Manning last year, but I could be wrong on that. I turned the game on for a few minutes to see if I could see you getting run over, no such luck though. I usually love watching Bears games but I'm just not excited about them this year, maybe the whole deal with Urlacher - I don't know.

GO CUBS!!

He hardly played. Only returned 2 kicks, and on one, he lateralled to Manning, which is the play I posted. They threw to him a couple times from WR, but on one he dropped the ball and on another it was on the other side of the field.
