My second day of shooting:

For your first day, great job! I just have a coupe of comments. First I would crop the first one a little bit either to a vertical (i will attach an example), or just getting rid of the car on the right, its a little bit distracting. On the second one, great job with cloning, looks nice and smooth though his first copy seems a little bit OOF. I really like the third one, but its blown out on the wall. The last one is great!

Not a perfect crop, but you get the idea

Wow, thanks for the feedback. Invaluable to me at this stage, don't want to be getting into any bad habits now do we . I agree wholeheartedly with you on my first picture, it looks a lot better portrait style rather than landscape.

On the second picture, I was having a hard time keeping the first guy in focus whilst shooting. Next time I will try shooting from further away (but zoomed in more) with a smaller aperture to try and keep more of the subject in focus. Hopefully that will give me better results.

Cheers mate!

You have great post-processing (PP) and effect skills. Study up on composition and you will be amazing. Welcome to the forum!

Pretty cool stuff for your first shots.
Post the original for 1 if you can... I'm not digging your PP on that.

I'd say you're quickly getting the hang of it! Can't wait to see more of your stuff.

Hi all, wow, thanks for you comments! Fortunately I've been using photoshop for a few years, i'm by no means a professional user but it's enough to add a little to each of my favorite pictures. Today is my second day with the camera and we are going to the skate park to shoot, if I get anything good I will post it up! Cheers!!!

How on earth did you do this?! :) I always wanted to know!
The second I can imagine a bit, taking two shots separately and combine them in Photoshop.

But the first...?

Great job!

Hi roger, first off thanks for your comments! As for the cloned images, it's very simple. You take two pictures using a tripod and in photoshop you overlap one over the other. Than you lasso (doesn't have to be neat at all) around the person in the top layer, until he/she/it is selected. Press ctrl+I to invert the selection, and delete the surroundings. The environment will now show through from underneath, and if you haven't budged your camera, they should both line up nicely (check this before you start lasso'ing tho). You then get the eraser tool, on a very soft setting, and gently blend it in. Hope this helps! Let me know how you get on with it, and show me your results!!!

Great photos! You look like you have lots of ideas.

What programs did you use for the HDR?
