It must've been confused as a Thermos,.... :D

That's the only logical explanation for that.

Of course, there can be several illogical explanations as well... lol.

How do you lose something this big? Maybe it was stolen from your bag... seems the most likely scenario...

I was wondering the same lol I mean wouldn't it be a lot more likely to loose that tiny 50 f/1.8 of yours? but sorry for your loss though :(

I think this thread is destined to be like the one started by LightRules, about his 40D continuous shooting not hitting 6.5FPS

I had a 70-300mm Sigma lost for maybe four years until I found it behind a number of books on a shelf.

I had come across this thread more than a year back and now all of a sudden I remembered it. But didn't know which keywords to use while searching for it.

I spent more than 20 minutes searching for this thread, but it was well worth the effort. Now I am bookmarking it, so that I don't loose it again just like the OP lost his lens.

How do you lose something so expensive. It's not that small either.

When I travel for a long period I hide al my stuff. That's how I lost my 24-105 F4 IS for a couple of months. It made me also realise I also don't need it really...
