I ride. Motorcycles. I have 7 of them at the moment. Going on a 3 day ride in the mountains and coast of California next weekend.

Been shooting for 40 years and riding for 50 - and still here to talk about it.

-js

Hopefully you don't do them at the same time!

I also ride - 5 day trip to Colorado coming up at the end of the month! We're taking 2 days up and 2 days back, now that I've got the hubby hooked on photography, too.

I keep turtles, so maintaining them is a relaxing (usually) time killer.

A couple of years ago I did try mounting a P&S to a bracket on my Suzuki so I could shoot on-the-move. It was not a success - the vibration destroyed image quality.

I do shoot and ride, but I stop the bike first. I carry the 30D in my tank bag, so it's always handy. Sometimes, if I'm in a dangerous spot, I'll remove just my right glove and shoot with my helmet on.

EDIT: just got back from my 3 day ride. Great riding, except for the freeway stage at the beginning. Have fun on your ride!

It's a dirty Hobby but someone has to do it.

Here lately my 2nd hobby has been working on our back yard, Japanese garden, pond, landscaping, building additional decking, privacy fencing etc.

I chase my wife around.

It is great exercise.

I'll never catch her.

I used to do a bit of gliding but I haven't flown for ages. These days if I'm on holiday somewhere with nice warm, clear water, I'll do some diving. At home I enjoy my car when the weather is nice, and I shoot from time to time as well.

Not enough time fo rmuch else.

Surfing takes up most of the free time that my wife doesn't claim, but with a baby on the way, I'm sure that will change. I've got a bunch of other hobbies that I don't have time for, or money for that matter. I hope that will change someday, but not likely.

Woodworking. The shop is more full than my camera bag.

Ditto. I have a rather nice shop with various pieces of equipment designed to turn wood into sawdust. Each does it in a slightly different way.

Come to think of it, photography turns light into photographs. Each piece of equipment contributes in a slightly different way. I guess these hobbies aren't that different after all . . .

For me it's metalworking. I have a very small home machine shop:

Please excuse the poor photographs - most of them were done with film under fluorescent light. I guess I should PP them...
