Looking for any posing tips as well as lighting and exposure comments. I took around 140 shots of this young lady today and just picked the first 2 that caught my eye. I did several on a white background that I would like to try to make into High Key shots as well.....but I will need a bit more practice with the PP first!

Canon 5D mk IV, Canon 5D mk iii, Canon 5d classic, Rebel XTI 400D 18-55 kit lens, Canon EF 85mm 1:1.8, Canon EF 17-40 F4L, Quantaray 70-300 1:4-5.6 LD, Canon 70-200 F2.8 iiL, Canon EF135 F2 L, Canon 200 F2 L, Tamron 28-75 1:2.8 , 2 alien bee 800's, 430 EXii, 580 EXii, rectangular and octo softboxes, assorted umbrellas, portable backdrops, radio triggers and still adding.............

As my screen name indicates I'm no expert but I would like to see more definition between the shirt and background. If this is the result you wanted I'll have some hot sauce with those words :) As for posing I've shot a few senior sessions and like to joke around and observe the person for what looks normal for them. The second pose seems a bit too posed and uncomfortable/unnatural. I made the mistake on my very first session by telling the kid that fingers pointed twoard the camera looked bad. It made him self conscious the rest of the session, the things we learn the hard way. I like the first one as the model seems relaxed. My $0.02 worth, adjusted for inflation the value is less than a cupon for expired pet food.

I'm no expert either, but the dress and background are too close for my liking. Also, when you're posing models you should make sure they don't put any weight on their arms/hands/legs...whatever they are supporting..I know it sounds awkward. Her left arm in #1 has an unnatural bulge where it is resting on her knee and her right upper arm and hand are pretty tense. Then again in #2 her right upper arm is tense from supporting herself. It can make her tricep bulge, making her upper arms look unnatural. Hope I explained it well enough..

I think the lighting looks good, just her outfits are too close in color to the background.

like the 2 comments above, you can't have the wardrobe match the backdrop. I've only ever shot on a black backdrop and never had the model in all black as it just gets completely lost.

Other than that, the lighting is good. The first picture is oof though.

Thanks for the input guys......you don't miss a thing! I had to shoot the full lenght shots with the stupid kit lens as I couldn't get far enough away from the subject with my 50 mm. I will post a couple more with a different colored outfit to see if they look any better to you.
I was kind of going for the monochromatic look with the black on black though.
