August Moon

I took these all over the last 7 days. Anyone that lives in New England knows we have had the worst weather here. This has been the first stretch of nice weather in what seems to be months!

These are my first attempt of moon pictures and I have to say that I am impressed. Now of course I want a longer lens or even a Telescope. Does it ever end :rolleyes:

All of these were shot hand-held, Canon 40D and 70-300 f/5.6 IS at 100% Crop.

Very well done. Takes the magic out of the face on the moon, though. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliment, I've always heard people say that taking a picture of a full moon is cool but when you take pics of partial moons you get to see more and more detail. Well this series of pictures certainly confirms that for me.
