A tighter crop would eliminate it. And moving the girl onto one of the thirds gives better composition.

I agree, moving the girl does improve it. I like the reflection of the girl in the water in the first one but i agree the shadow is distracting

I like the reflection of the little girl in the water, too. What about this (I changed the beach a little):

The closer crop makes the picture better in my opinion. Thanks for sharing
