A little too bright, but nice capture though.

Too many lost details in the blown highlights. LR2 is fun to play with, and I'd not hesitate to recommend it to anyone, but that shot as presented isn't one I'd use to sell it.

Try using the adjusters with the presets to bring down those blown out whites a bit ..see how that works for you .

Teeny, if you're just playing around then...they're great! The comments above are very helpful so I won't labour their points. I actually like the first pic but there's too much space at the top so I'd crop it a little tighter. Also, are you using the WOW presets? And which version of LR? The latest version has some neat inclusions that could only previously be done by PS or another program.

As for the 'blown' areas, if you understand the historgram, play with your tones and curves. Should fix it in no time.

Wayne, Hi and thanks. I don't know what the WOW presets are, just the regular presets that comes with lightroom 2. I downloaded a trail version and really like it. I have several of the little girl on my site that I processed through it. Here is my site: www.tparkerphotography.smugmug.com (external link) I really appreciate your comments.

Teeny - just buy it :) You're already having fun with it and it only gets better as you learn what everything does and how to control things to get your vision out!
