Winter temperatures and DSLR's

I was wondering if using our DSLR's in freezing weather hurts them. (I am up in Canada with -24 ish right now)

Specifically, does using it outside for an hour, then bringing it back into a warm house, hurt it? Does the fogging [that happens] and humidity damage or cause spots on the sensor.

I am just going to relay the advise I have read on here before. Let the camera adjust to the temp before turing it on, keep the batteries in your pocket and warm till you are ready to use them (cold will wipe them out quickly), now this last one I am not sure so please check to make sure, put the camera in a plastic zip-lock style bag when you come back in to fight condensation and wait till the camera hits room temp before taking it out again.

Here in Michigan - it has been kinda nasty for the last few weeks.

I use my 20D outside at the zoo for a couple hours at a time. Temps in the teens and very low 20's.

Also my 300D for the second year in a row.

When you come inside,if you can - put camera/lens in a gallon size zip-lock bag. When the condensation is gone from the outside of the bag, your back in business. This might take 45 minutes+.

Take your CF card out and put it in your pants pocket before you come in. You should be able to use it right away.

Obviously you will get slightly less use from your battery(s).
