just this second i was browsing that Pete.
I think you get stung by import Tax though. Best bet for us Brits is to get it off Ian ( Kerso )
I think he is doing it for around £900

Anyone who was wondering about the 50D EF-S 18-200 kit will probably be disappointed. B&H and Amazon both list the kit at $2099 US, which is exactly the same price you'd pay buying the body and lens separately. :(

Thought you might all be interested in this: -
www.Digitalrev.com (external link)

They were pricing the 50D at £822 inclusive a day or so ago, maybe that was an error on their site.

Note that anything you buy from them ships from Hong Kong, but if you buy through their website they have the shipping company bill them for the VAT and brokerage charges. If anything goes wrong you will need to return the camera to Hong Kong for warranty repair, which is expensive. They were worth using a couple of years ago when they charged significantly less than UK dealers, but it doesn't really seem worth it now.

I think anyone (like me) wanting a decent deal will have to wait a month or so until they feel they've squeezed as much as they can from the early adopters :).

Really? didnt even know it was out yet? how much mate?
sample images :D

got it for £949. Was willing to pay a little more than RGB tech for being able to pick it up in person. Had to push their price down, I guess they went for it on the basis that an immediate sale is cash in the kitty. Their website still has it up for £1200!

will try and take comparitive photos if I have time. Did have a play with the high iso though. just sitting on my sofa having a play, and only using the LCD on the back (BTW, seems to do full res when fully zoomed in, or certainly better than the 40D), 3200 seems pretty nice with standard NR on, jpeg shooting. 6400 is quite noisy and 12800 is nasty. This was shooting at 1/160 f4 ISO 12800, so it was pretty dark for the likkle thing

Main thing is I think 3200 (highest native) is very usable and I wouldn't hesitate if I needed the shutter speed.

If you want to see some high ISO samples go to my website - www.ryanjarvisphotography.co.uk (external link) and select "events". There's some images there taken at Ely Cathedral - near Cambridge (UK).

To cut it short ISO 3200 is excellent!

The maximum transfer speed is the difference, you need Extreme IV to get UDMA on a Sandisk card.
