I plan to buy a refurbed 40D when the price drops to $700 or so and keep my 20D as a backup. I'm quite happy living far from the bleeding edge on this score.

The leaked G10 looks great, though, for my underwater setup.

OR...

- my 40D took better photos than the 50D
- The 50D is eating my hard disk.

- All I need is iso400 from the 40D
- I am no a noob...the 50D just sucks...

blah blah blah blah...these of course come from peeps that NEVER read the body's manual OR read the basics of photography...

I think canon missed the boat with the 50D - no swivel screen? no movie mode???

I feel that by THEN it'll have everything I want and need. I REFUSE to take ONE single picture until that camera comes out.

At this rate you'll see a 90D by 2012, so don't lose hope!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a yearly replacement for the xxD line now.

Exactly the reason I have been giving for why it wasn't in the 40D. More people are going to screw up their systems with this than you can shake a stick at.

Part of Canon's master plan. When AF adjustment had to be sent into Canon Service center and the camera was under warranty, AF adjustment was a huge financial burden on Canon.

Now, with AF adjustment being a user-maladjustable feature, every request for AF adjustment can be a billable service charge, because Canon will be able to determine if the adjustment is at factory settings or not.
