Rule #1: Only NSWESP may post images here. No exceptions.

Earlier this evening, in the current POTNAC thread, I made the Arthur Daley of POTN an offer. You can see the original post here:

https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=6179918#post6179918

Basically, Angus (NSWESP) has to use equipment from his gear list as of today (no borrowing or swapping), to create a piece of art worthy of wall-hanging. He needs to post at least one image per fortnight. Within 3 months, he must share an image that I and the good people of POTNAC consider worthy.

If successful, I will pay him AUD$500 for a 16x24" canvas of the given image.

Rule #2: Images shot for POTNAC's "photo golf" competition do not qualify.
Rule #3: Angus may not use equipment acquired after 26/8/08 or borrowed from others.
Rule #4: Images must be taken within the appointed fortnight.
Rule #5: Failure to meet the fortnightly deadline will result in disqualification or a deduction in the final payment, at my discretion.

Why is this happening? Basically it's an incentive to get Angus shooting more, and buying/trading less.

If, for any reason, Angus is unsuccessful, other submissions may be invited.

That's all for now.

Got an idea for the first one :D
You say piece of art, meaning you want something conceptual etc or just a nice image basicly?

I don't have any genre guidelines to offer ;)

I want to like the image, that's all.

Goodluck angus!

I believe many people on POTN are guilty of what angus does, ie concentrate too much on gear and not actually taking photos (myself included). No, i dont want to have a discussion about it, theres about 100 threads on that topic, haha. I do however find it interesting that this is an easy trap to fall in to.

Angus, Art can be pretty much anything, photography in itself is an art. I dont think that you are in any way limited any particular style of photography. Correct me if im wrong Luke.. ;)
