A friend of a friend is a club owner at a few local clubs, and long story short, i've got an opportunity to go to the clubs for free, get free drinks, snap shots, and he'll pay me for the pictures. pretty good deal, except i've got ZERO experience (which he knows, and understanding of the fact).

given that there's not much pressure to perform, I'd still like to set off on the right foot, and make the best of it. I've never been to the club, but I assume it's going to be low light situation.

here's a list of my available equipment, looking for suggestions of best equipment to use (i'm open to renting lenses, but for this first one, i'd really like to see what can be done with what i already have), general suggestions, etc.

Canon XTi
Speedlite 430ex
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8
Canon 70-200 f/4.0
Canon 50 f/1.4
Tamron 90 f/2.8 (macro)

TIA for any suggestions you guys have.

Click

Two more threads: One, two.

I'd use the 17-50 and the flash for "night club" (people) shots. Maybe the 50/1.4 for available light snapshots and / or on stage stuff.

You have enough to start with. As Rene said, your 17-50 f2.8 and 50 f1.4 will be your lenses of choice.

Hi! I want to buy the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 for my nightclub shots but I can't find any example of pic taken in the club. I wanna have first an idea of what is the result.
I have the 1100D + 8mm Samyang + 50mm 1.8 + the classic one 18-55 (that doesn't work any more. AF problems) and the 430EX II. Tamron will replace my 18-55.
I would appreciate if somebody can show me some pic.
Thanks!
