Which would you recommend?
Pantone Huey
or
Pantone Huey Pro

What is the difference between them?
Thanks.

I use the Huey Pro with good results. I think the difference is that the pro supports more than one monitor. Maybe some other additional features.

I would check the other thread on this site about Huey and color casts. They're actually sending people that bought a Huey a replacement XRite Eye1 Display2.

The Eye1 is their 'pro' model, it's a lot more expensive and allows for a lot more cfine tuning during the calibrating.

I bought the Huey Pro and it had a strong pink color cast. I complained to Pantone and they sent me the Eye1 as a replacement. There's no comparing the two, the Eye1 is better in all regards, and with 3rd party software can be used to calibrate TV's as well.

The rep. told me via email that they have stopped producing the Huey Pro's for the time being due to so many problems with them and that's why they had to replace it with the Eye1. This doesn't bold well for the Huey Pro's that are currently in the stores.

Honestly I'd avoid the Huey line altogether.

I'm using the standard $80 Huey with good results. It was money well spent.

I have read on another forum that the Huey has a lot of "bad" units out. How do you know if a unit is bad? Or more like problematic?

By buying it and using it, and hope that if it has a problem with a color cast it's strong enough that you'll be able to clearly tell because if it's just a slight color cast that you don't notice it's going to mess up the color in all the pictures you process from that point on.

Again, with the recent problems Pantone has had with these units I'd avoid them and go another route.
