Very nice set. I have been trying to capture a Belted Kingfisher shot to top the one I have already. I am starting to think they have canon shutter detection senses..:lol: Atleast 10 times in the past weeks I have been within 25 feet of him and soon as the shutter goes they fly away :(.

Do you take these from a blind?

I found it impossible to get their pic in t he woodlands but pretty easy near the bay where they perch on poles and masts right out in the open. THat said, they won;t let you that close, so I get decent, but not great, pics with my 200mm.

They were taken from a blind/hide I was about 15ft - 20ft from them, I was using a 40d and my son was using 20d which is noisier but they didn't flinch once.

It was a private lake, the set up was: 500 f4 top and bottom shots and the rest were same lens using a 1.4 tcon. I used manfrotto tripod with the manfrotto gimbel.
