I have never had much luck getting my boys in a picture together, when they are both looking in the same general direction. Here are Opie, (front) and Bentley (back) in our backyard. Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

*laugh*

It's always tough giving bassets stage direction. They pretty much do their own thing, but way to go in getting them to look at one single thing!

Seems a tad bright to me - next time you might also try a CPOL filter.

I didn't say that you wouldn't have to get the shot of *really* quickly before you get jumped on, just that it would get their attention! ;-)a

Way to be supportive of your fellow photographers!

:) Very true! For as big as they are, they can move lightning fast when food is involved! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Becca and Kim,

Thank you for your comments, they are very sweet guys, and I have been trying forever to get them in a good shot together and looking the same direction.

If you are going to tell me my picture is bad please at least tell me what is wrong with it---I am still learning and I am looking for ways to improve.

I love Basset Hounds but I have found that they are probably one of the most difficult breeds to pose. A lot of their personality and character is in their eyes so that is where I would try to focus. That classic "bloodshot eyes" look of the Basset is always a winner!

I agree they do say a lot with their eyes, making the picture more difficult is the fact that Bentley had to have his left eye removed two weeks ago due to primary glaucoma, and the glaucoma medicine that I put in his other eye, has caused his eye to change color--it is very hard to get a catchlight. Any idea how to light it better to get a good capture?
