Hi all
New poster, new to photography, just know the basics, trying to grow
During a trip in europe i bought a 450D kit, happy with it, but feel the need for new/better glass
Now, im no professional, nor want to be (for the moment) but really want to discover new areas i cant explore right now.
Im mainly interested in people and abstract (dont know how to explain it better, its like looking for repetitive geometric cool shapes in the surroundings); and sports (read surfing), and finally birdies catch my eye too.
Im almost decided for the Canon 70-200 USM L IS f2.8 for a day to day use, but would like something bigger, like a 300mm prime with a 1.4x TC.
I guess the combo will do a pretty fair tele considering the 1.6x crop from the camera... am i right?
Now from what i read, the Canon is the best way to go, but heavy for my wallet. On the other hand read good reviews about a Tokina 300mm 2.8f pro version
What most intrigues me are:
1) The EF version of this lens will work with my 450D?
2) How slow is AF compared to USM? couldnt find a video from the viewfinder of a USM lens to compare speeds
I read the Tokina can be had for about $1200-1300 2nd hand
And now im considering getting the 70-200 from here instead of other places (offtopic, contact me with a pm if you have something that can catch my attention)
Hoping to get an answer, it seems to be much more activity here than in other forums i stopped by.
thanks in advance
rodrigo
