I'm chiming in in favor of the Tokina 11-16, which was recently sold out EVERYWHERE, but is now back in stock at B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com …eveSku&IC=TO111628PDXC&Q= (external link)

The significant edge that this lens has over the other ultra wide lenses is its constant f/2.8 aperture, making it not only a great sharp UWA, but also wonderful for low-light situations. I love this lens and couldn't be happier with my decision after struggling for months between our limited choices of UWA.

* Canon 40D | Canon 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS | Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 | Sigma 30mm f/1.4
* Canon Speedlite 580EX II
* Canon SD870 IS [wide angle p&s]
