Not fond of the frames.best on black ( and the titles aren't really needed?).Not sure about the subjects..do you have the entire photos of these? I like the second shot more so..a little more defined.to me anyways..

I don't know why, but they seem to be the kind of shot I'd expect to see blown up to a large size and featured in the lobby of a large corporation.

Not to hijack your thread... but I remember taking a similar shot when I first got my dslr. it's a fun subject!

I like your #2 better. The color is clean.

Hi guys;

THANK YOU for taking the time to comment... much appreciated...

Flo; see below for a re-work in black... better? Or did you just not like the colour co-ordinated borders? As for the titles... as joedlh intimates, my thinking was for large poster-style iamging, and I think the titles work there - but I'm open to persuasion otherwise...

joedlh; that's what I was looking at... how about the black re-work? Better or not?

Why ? What works for #2 that doesn't for #1 - is it just the added margin?

Anyhow... here's the black bg...

Try a black border around #2 and up the contrast. I think that would make is less "dull"

EXactly!!

They seem to be nice abstracts, but I haven't a clue how to interpret them.
BTW, this is a compliment!

Also, the black back ground is a nice improvement. Glad you left the title. I like titles.

i like them. the black border is much better, but, I think the green lines/title should also be changed to white or light grey. just a personal preference.

"Dull" in quotation marks because it was really someone else's opinion about the second image. I think it looked clean to begin with and I wouldn't change it.

Yes. Keep in mind that our eyes are drawn to the brighter parts of the shot. And those bright areas tend to make the darker areas look even darker. Take a look at POST #30 near the bottom: The gray bar at the center is the same density all the way across.
