I like the composition, pose and colours. Could be the conversion to web, but the quality looks a little rough.

I have to agree with philthejuggler (now that's an interesting screen name). There is an issue on the skin of the face. Hard light, oily skin, so-so lens? Not sure of the makeup of the S5 IS.

How is the second version? I used Portrait Professional 6 and tried to not over process .

Better but still not there. The fix was a bit overdone and not even across the face.

Perhaps there is a white balance issue too?

Does the S5 have a RAW mode?

No the S5 IS doesn't have RAW. I also have a XSI though.
