AcipHex is for heartburn relief. (web site HERE (external link)) I heard their commercial on the radio and could NOT believe that a company would name their product "AcipHex". It takes a moment if you're reading it, so let me help you out but I don't want to get banned for using obscenities.

"Aci" is pronounced the same as the first part of the word "Acid"
"ipHex" is pronounced "effects"

Put them together and you get "AcipHex" which sounds like a classification of sound effects to be used in a juvenile movie of bodily functions.

Didn't anyone at Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals giggle when the name of this product was discussed?

Director of Marketing addressing the Board of Directors. "Our new product is 'AcipHex'. The name plays well with focus groups."

" *snort* I bet it does," replies Sally, the administrative assistant who's taking minutes of the meeting.

"Excuse me?" asks the Director.

"I just wrote '***-effects' into the minutes."

"Yes. 'AcipHex' is it's name. So what's so funny?"

"***-efects?"

"AcipHex."

"You don't hear it?"

"Hear what?"

"Nevermind. I'm cashing in my stock options."

***************

Photography Relation:

The photo on the product web page was taken in very poor light. The highlights are blown out on the man's bald spot and his umbrella.
