My brother's wedding is coming up real soon (next week).

I had a request from my brother for a studio set up so guests can 'take a picture of themselves' I will be using the CyberSync to wirelessly trigger the two flashes.

But the question is.. how do I wirelessly trigger the camera??

Is a laptop all you need? I know there's a software included in Canon DSLRs that lets you take pics via your computer.

Has anyone done this before?? By the way I'm going to use a Canon 300D or 350D can't remember..

Or is there a way to 'wirelessly trigger' the camera? I already have a wireless remote but I can't used that because the CyberSync is going to be attached..

well, you could use a wireless mouse on the laptop and let the users click the shutter button on the EOS utility screen (maybe put the mouse on a pedistel which is just below camera view. Or you could get one of these (external link) which lets you have a wireless mouse in the air without having to have a surface to set it on.

There is also this one (external link) which is a little less expensive

there is also another option I just found but it would require a new sync system. It gives the option to fire strobes alone, camera alone, or both. On a very small remote I might add. Click Here (external link)

AH HA! why didn't I think of a wireless mouse!!
With a limited budget, that'll be the best option for me I guess.
Thanks a lot !!

So you can't attach both the Cybersync trigger and the remote camera receiver to the camera together?

Get another set of wireless remotes (Tx unit in hand and Rx unit on camera) and use them, set to a different channel from the flash remotes, to wirelessly trigger the camera. The camera will, in turn, trigger the remote flashes.

I don't understand this....where does your wireless trigger attach to the camera?

The Cybersync transmitter goes on the camera hotshoe.

You can let the remote hang down. It is not necessary to attach it to the hotshoe. It does not fire your camera through the hotshoe, that is just a handy place to put it. It fires the camera through the remote port on the side of the camera that the cord goes into.

Not having a wireless remote I could not figure out why the hotshoe was needed...thanks for the clarification.

Duct tape it to the bottom of the camera...

The hotshoe would be for the Tx unit that triggers the remote flash. Of course, the remote Rx unit to trigger the camera does not need to be mounted on the hotshoe so it can just dangle beside the camera.

This has become a very confusing thread for me. Must be my advanced age.

I have Cybersyncs for my lights - I could not figure out why the use of RF flash triggers was confusing the remote to fire the camera.
