I have seen a lot of threads out there discussing both whether the 1D is still a usable camera, and second, how slow of a shutter speed can you go in shooting volleyball. My son has pretty much taken over my Canon gear, but I decided because of all the discussion to see how well the old 1D would work when I went with him on one of his shoots. I have to tell you, I am happier than I thought I would be. This was shot at ISO 1000, 1/200 at f2.8 with a very old Sigma 120-300 and a 1D Classic shot JPG. While the new stuff is far better, push come to shove I guess the old 1D can still produce if needed. I feel a little bad because this camera used to be one of my constant companions but hadn't been powered it up in over a year since I made the change to .... never mind on that one. Oh well, here is a sample shot.
