I'm trying out the trials of both Lightroom and Aperture. While I think that Aperture has a more refined interface I'm leaning towards Lightroom because I feel there is more available support for it (both online and in print). I basically suck at PP and need a book to help understand how to best utilize all the options available to me in the develop module in Lightroom. Is there enough info in Kelby's version 1 book that would carry over to version 2 to help me get started, or should I wait for his version 2 book?

There are so many changes in LR2 that you should definitely wait for his new book to come out; it's supposed to be shipping in September. In the meantime, there are many sites out there with some videos to get you started.
