IMAGE POSTING RULES only allow 8 embedded pics by the OP per thread, so I removed the IMG tags from the last ones. You can always just post a link to them, though, or better yet, post a link to a gallery so we don't have to click on each link.

Hey mr mod. Sorry bout that, will take note next time. First time I'm posting a series on POTN so yeah =)

Edited First post with flickr gallery set link.

Thanks Scrumpy!

Equetefue, I do believe it's the Black Knights you're referring to ;)

rocket tubes are nice - good to see those F5's... wasn't the F5 the competition aircraft that lost out to the F16 for the USAF contract back in the day?

The YF17 "Cobra" lost out to the (then) YF16...

The YF17 went on to eventually become the F/A-18.

You might be thinking of the F20 Tigershark, a derivative of the F5 that was (IIRC) developed by Northrup for overseas sales.

The US Govmnt was interested but wouldn't bite unless the F20 actually sold to foreign air forces. It didn't so the US passed...

I think Rolex still runs ads with Chuck Yeager and an F20 in the background. I remember reading that Yeager liked it a lot...

Nice shots! I was at the open house too, really really impressive stuff! Unfortunately I only had a point-and-shoot, so all of my photos for the day just show tiny specks in the sky, or are blurry, out of focus, or just missing the action! I really like the abstract nature of the empty rocket bay thing, but my favourites are the two apaches in flight, it's so ugly yet so appealing at the same time! Regards

Chris

I'm afraid not, I'm English, born and bred, just over here for a month on a university exchange programme! :)

Great series you posted, rare to see an F-5 for me. Did the Black Knights fly a demo?
