So, we're going to the Virginia Beach area in 2 weeks. I've never really been there. We'll be staying in an ocean front condo and since we're driving, I can take everything I want with me. Planning lot's of beach time, as well as touring Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown and going down the coast along N.C. outerbanks, Kittyhawk, etc. It's been a while since I traveled with my gear and I've added lenses and a body since I last went somewhere. Now I'm not sure what to get and would like some help. Let's pretend there is no budget restrictions just for fun.8)

Here's what I own:
Bodies: 20D and 40D
Lenses: 17-40L; 24-70L; 70-200L (f 2.8 ); 500L; 85L; nifty 50; 100 macro; kit lens that I never use
Support: Gitzo Tripod (3450LS); Gitzo Monopod (5540); Bogen Tripod (3021Pro); Wemberly head with plate for the 500 and the Bogen 322RC2 (which I'm not sure I like much)
Bags: Lowepro Computrekker AW; Kinesis 521 plus back pack harness, with a pouch for 70-200 and for an extra body; Crumpler 6MD
Misc: 580EX; many CF cards, 1-4GB; 2 batteries; various sized cheap UV filters for the lenses that I take off when I'm shooting; and the 3 foot canon shutter release cord

Wish list in no particular order:
I've thought about getting the 5DmkII when it's released, so I've avoided most of the EF-S lenses, but I don't have a great WA solution; am really thinking about the 10-22 unless someone has a better approach.

I'll need some CPLs; which lenses would you get them for? Any particular brands I should look at?

On that note, I'd LOVE to get some GND filters. Am seriously considering getting a set, as well as a reverse GND. IIRC, there's a great thread on here regarding them.

Am I better off finding a bag that can hold 2 bodies with lenses attached, or taking one bag and changing lenses? The 6MD won't hold 2 bodies with lenses. I would like something that can be accessed while carrying it, so most backpacks are not an option. Also, it would be nice if I had ONE bag to hold everything. I've heard the Think Tank Airport Security will hold the 500; will it hold all my stuff?

Finally, I've never really liked the 322 ball head. It was bought for the Bogen tripod, which was my first tripod. I upgraded to the Gitzo for the 500, as the Bogen would visibly shake with any wind. I leave the Wemberly on the Gitzo and have just been using the monopod with no head. I've never tried to do a panoramic shot or stitching. Would a pano head be useful?

Any other advice? I need to get a rocket blower for sure. Sorry for the long post and thanks for all the advice!! :-D

You could rent a porter to carry all your stuff .

Seriously, I don't think you need to buy any additional photographic equipment other than possibly some high quality circular polarizer filters. You have far more than I do and I never feel under-equipped for a similar trip.

You don't need anything camera or lens lens wise.
For carrying your gear on a shoot I would be looking at a Think Thank Belt system with a couple of Digital Holsters to hold cameras with a lens attached. With maybe a pouch for accessories.

A harness will help distribute the weight.

I wouldn't take a bag and change lenses and as I don't think that is a good idea on a beach. You will just need to decide what you need for a days shooting before loading up your belt.
The other alternative is to possibly use a vest (domke?) to help carry your gear.

I would also take a battery charger.

The last thing is to to have your gear insured just in case it is stolen from your condo or car.

I was going to say the 17-40 is a great lens, but not that wide on the cropped bodies. So, get the 10-22 if you have to buy something.
