I got my packet last week after reigstering at the end of June. I didn't look at it closely, but can anyone knowledgable explain the pre-approval repair fee thing?

Why the time limit?
Does this add any weight to the possibility of a 5.2D release?

no idea on the limit, the only thing I could think of is that they are using the feedback to better the replacement.... so if thats the case (which I hope its not) the replacement wont be coming anytime soon because they wont have the time to make the enhancements

Ironically, I just sent my 5D in for a full repair and cleaning. I pray I got it in to them in time,LOL!!!

This is great. I just did mine, but I wonder if it matters if it i bought it used from a personal seller. I guessed at purchase time/price/and location.

I bought my 5D secondhand. No warranty card, and I just put the purchase date as the date I paid the seller.

AWESOME. I bought my camera 2nd hand too, but have a copy of the receipt so i have the date of purchase as well as price. Big thanks!
