The first shot is better from a colour point of view, the second is washed out. Also in the second shot his eyes are shaded by the hat - careful use of flash can 'fill-in' the shadows for a pleasant effect. Lastly I'd put more distance between subject and background - blurring the background makes the subject stand out. Blog

queenbee288 Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 03, 2008 17:11 | #6 In PS I increased saturation and contrast. It was a little overexposed so I adjusted levels. Selected just the background and added a little gaussian blur. You have to be careful to not overdo the gaussian blur or it will look fake.
