..because mine have been horrible. I'm just wondering if they are able to fix anything. I've owned my 1D mark III for 14.5 months. CPS canada has had it in their possession for 5.5 of those months over two different repairs!

Am I being unreasonable to think that their service is absolute crap? I don't understand how holding a pro's camera body hostage for 75% of the busiest part of the shooting season can in any way be considered "supporting their working pros". 1.5 months into the repair, I had to beg and plead and make many phone calls to get a loaner body.

I JUST received a brand new mark III body from them, my third one. They said they couldn't figure out how to fix it. I gave it to them May 19. I can't understand how it takes over 3 months to discover that something is not fixable. This is the second time in a row I've been through this. I am praying that this body works flawlessly.

I'm losing faith here. I'm wondering if I've just been continuously unlucky, and that most pros get excellent service from them. Because honestly, when choosing which camera system to use for your business, you're also buying into the post-sales support the company provides. I'm getting really frustrated with Canon.

Seems to be fairly consistent with everything I've heard about Canon Canada Service however there's a girl who works at the local Henry's camera shop here and says she gets perfect service from CPS albeit it's probably because she works for a retailer that hocks Canon gear.

I've heard the same horror stories from Canon in Mississauga having the lens for 6 months only to send it back saying no problems found to people sending the camera in for a simple fix and adjustment only to have it held hostage for months. It's rather poor service if you ask me, they seemed to dick me around when I called and asked about a repair on a lens which turned out Henry's was quicker at getting done and just did an exchange for me out of warranty.

There used to be Canon gear here but it disappeared.

I had to send my 300D to Canon's Service Centre in Calgary a couple of years ago and received excellent service and a quick turnaround. A relatively cheap model from an individual not connected to a retailer, yet more than satisfactory resulkts.

Hey Lloyd,

Yeha I've been upset with the service that Canon Canada provides too, but it's futile to argue with them. I did, too, have to send my 1D Mark III in several times, and one occasion I had to send it back to them right away after a lens calibration as the camera was giving ERR99's. This took another 3 weeks for the camera to make its way back to me, even though they quoted that these cameras get priority. I think there needs to be a class-action petition to the company. It's horrible that all of Canada is serviced in Mississauga. I hope your body works out. How's the 1DsMarkIII? I'm thinking of getting it.

I know the service manager in Montreal so it helps but if it has to go to Mississauga then be prepared to wait..a lot. My experience is that the Canon people in Mississauga are lost and take their sweet time. Even my friend at the Montreal service center agrees with me.

I have never had any issue getting a loaner or fast repair since I always go in person to the Montreal location.
