We were enjoying dinner with my parents and my kids tonight when I realized that the hummingbirds were feeding really regularly. After sitting for just maybe 2-3 minutes, I was able to start snapping. Most were pretty bad because I left my DOF too shallow, but I was pleased with how this one turned out.

Thanks, yeah, the ISO was cranked and then I was able to up the shutter speed quite a bit. Got a couple more good ones 2 days ago, too. I love stopping the wing...its a big challenge for me. I got quite the show this last time, and I just love the photos where you can see the details of the wings. As much as harsh sun doesn't work for portraits, it seems to in some cases for birds!

Yesterday I spent the day experimenting with very high ISO, post processing and some other manipulations and got some pretty nice results seen throughout this thread.

I planned on using it on my yard hummers, but it got into the 40's last night and I have not seen a hummer yet today. :(
