OK so the fabrics came and upon first analysis I conclude
- Neoprene can prolly be used by itself as the pad (wont be THAT comfortable but it would do)
- Won't work here as it adds too much width to the pad and is just plain bulky

.- The 100% waterproof nylon is in fact waterproof and although I don't like the pattern (I might get it in a solid color like black or blue) it will do nicely - its very well woven and doesn't seem likely to get caught or tear on anything and it will be easy to sew as well

.- What I will do is at the top and bottom of where it will meet the pad...fold the fabric inward about a quarter inche and sew along the edge (this will create a hole going all the way through)
- The loop w/string(bungy) going though will be on the bottom and top of the pad and hang over half an inch or so
- Then after all is on and sewn up I will put a draw string thingy on the end of the strings so that I can pull them tight against the tripod leg (leaving no padding showing nd keeping things like dust/snow etc from getting inside the pad and sitting against the leg
- This image is a ROUGH draft haha the string will be hidden and sewn on the inside of the loop created by the fabric but this is KIND OF how it should look at the end
