What do you apply to a model's skin to make it shimmer and shinier? I notice that some people use the jergen's shimmer, but I want to hear other options and their pros and cons.

I remember someone here talk about using cooking pan spray but I am not sure if it is safe or may have other side effects.

There are very strict controls in what cannot be 'shared' and applied to the faces of subjects, as there are clear health risks in permitting use of same cosmetic by multiple individuals! For example, a powder puff must be unused and thrown out after application to the face, and not dipped back into the same powder! This product above MUST be squeezed down into the open hand and the bottle never touch the skin. CAUTION!!!

I've seen stylists use aerosol deodorant for some effects. It works well with that modern sidelighting/ringflash Dave Hill type of look

I've also seen stylists mix water with glycerin and then spray it on a model for the wet look. The water stays beaded up instead of just running off...it's also good for shooting cold drinks like icy beer bottles etc

That's about all I know...most of what we see in advertisements is done with creative dodging and burning in PP
