This was part of a theme shoot at a buddy's bike shop.

The little notepad is right out of my photo bag, I scribbled down a bunch of nonsense part numbers, had her looking them up and pretending to talk to a customer on the phone. Snapped a couple of pics then said, "Hey Sarah, look at me..." <Click>

I like it, but. since I took it, proccessed it and after staring at it for so long, I know I am not objective.

What do you think?

Focal length was 45mm so I am guessing it was the kit lens. Normally I hate the kits lens and try not to use it, but I did use it this day because of the cramped quarters and I needed a wider lens than my Nifty or my 70-200.

Since this day, I picked up a 28mm lens so I don't have to revert to the kit lens any more.

Well, she is in her environment, correct?

Nice shot. Pretty girl. Good fill. But it doesn't really move me... I don't know. It just seems so static. And, of course I look at her tattoos and piercings and say, what a shame, because she would be prettier without, but Oh, I know that's a subject of great debate! Sorry, but that's JMO

Overall, good shot. Clean lighting. Technically nice job! ;)

Meaning that it was not taken in a studio, it was taken in the subjects natural environment.

Found this for you:

The surroundings or background is a key element in environmental portraiture, and is used to convey further information about the person being photographed.
Where it is common, in studio portraiture and even in location cadid photography, to shoot using a shallow depth of field, thereby throwing the background out of focus, in environmental portraiture the background is an integral part of the image. Indeed, smaller apertures and more depth of field is commonly used in this type of photography.

A very nice photo IMHO, and a very beautiful model.

Wow.. she almost looks a bit frightened or caught off gaurd. The color and clarity are nice, but I'm afraid she doesn't have a natural and pleasant expression on her face which is one of the elements of an environmental portrait. I'd like to see one of the better "talking with customer" shots.

I lot her tattoo! The color rocks!

The image on the other hand is ok. It looks like you snapped a pic. The background is distracting.

I think the exposure, lighting, pp, etc is great. I just think the execution needs work.
