Hi all,

The attached file is of a logo that I'm designing for myself. The logo is just the word 'xVision' so please disregard the rest of the image.

I feel that there is an unnecessary space between the 'x' and the 'V', which could be due to the font used. Do you have any suggesions of how I may improve it ?

Thanks :)

Put "Vision" on a separate text layer than "X" that way you can nudge it as close to the "X" as you wish. Also you might want to consider making "www.xvixion.com.au" a bit smaller width wise rather than having it stretch your entire companies name, I would also remove the red.

Thank you accord,

I believe I followed your advice and added the logo as a watermark into one of the images. What do you guys think of this ?

Thanks

Looks better, might lower the opacity a bit more. Might even make it smaller. You don't want the water mark to take their eyes off the photographs themselves.

It looks too busy to me, and doesn't look high end at all - it looks like a logo you designed at home, using the standard Arial font. The couple of red characters looks amateurish to me.

I'm no good at designing logos, that's why I paid someone to do it for me.

I hope xsight.com.au doesn't take issue with your business name... very similar.

Hi Tim,

Well the logo was designed by myself, so I'm not claiming it's super professional. I, myself, am still learning Photoshop so I believe it's a good start :) I'm not in a situation where I could 'pay' for anything that I'd want to do. I'll do that once a decent income starts flowing from Photography.

As for xSight, I don't think that the 'x' at the front of my business name will affiliate with their business in any way. I know that the similarities are the 'xs' and the 'business type', otherwise they're not the same.

Yeah I agree about the font, I'm just not good in fonts. Any suggestions of what type of fonts I should be using ? :)

look through dafont.com .. there is even an option to type in text and view samples of every font.
