A link for a video about the new Tenba Sling just popped into my mailbox. As an advocate of the Slingshot 200 AW this new Tenba Sling looks like a very interesting alternative, with some very creative design features. I'm very happy with my Slingshot and will not be replacing it any time soon, but for those considering a bag for the first time the Tenba looks to build substantially on the Lowepro design.

Man, they stole my idea! I was going to make a SS100 where I could access the main compartment through the top like that!

Not worth the price though. Gosh.

It looks the business.. Looking at the video it appears a better bag than my Lowepro SlingShot 200 AW which I really like..

The tenba theme music made me chuckle :D

But I agree - they do look like serious contenders...

Adorama (external link) has it for 99.95. I'd be very interested to read a detailed review of this bag,

The beginning of the video just creeps me out, "I had a dream I was wrapped up in a Tenba" creepy.

Yeah, it looks very cultish. That's actually most of the reason that I'm interested in this bag. Like if I buy, they'll let me join the cult. A sense of belonging for less than $100? Sign me up! Where can I find the Kool-Aid?

Has anybody tried this bag?
I called around to every photo store in Vancouver and found nothing!

Haven't tried the Tenba, but I got a hold of a Kata 3n1. The build quality is great but I'm not sure I'm sold on the sling style bag. Also, the shoulder strap gets uncomfortable after a short while. If you wore the bag with both shoulder straps in the X formation it will probably give you better support and still essentially function as a sling, you just un-hook one strap and its still a sling.
